Hey

I think my clutch is on its way out so I was wondering how much it will be to replace and fit (so including labour) a new clutch.

My car: Rover 45, 1.4, K series, 50K, 03 plate.

Many thanks!

:)

Changing the clutch is childs play for an amatuer DIY'er with most basic tools as long as you have a clutch alignment tool.

Some bits are tricky but not really a hard job tbh, say 8 hours or so to do the lot, out change clutch and back in.

A decent garage should likely have it done in a couple of hours or so.

So expect their labour for a max of 4 hours I would think @ say ÂŁ40ph = ÂŁ160

Clutch kit iirc was about ÂŁ40

So a rough price guide around ÂŁ200.

Whats involved with the hydraullic clutch as fitted to the 400/45? I know the cable clutch you just simply pull and remove the cable, but dont know about the hydraullic system.

hi there i think its worth havin a go yourself as it is fairly straight forward, i have very little mechanical knowledge and had a go with my 1.8 45. i got a clutch kit for ÂŁ50.00 and gave my m8 ÂŁ50 for helping me out so spent ÂŁ100.00 and took us 4 hours and had absolutely no problems. well worth having a go in these credit crunch times.
