ZT has to go

Hi All,
I have a 2002 ZT 180+ auto which has been SORNed for the last year or so, I held onto it because of the low prices and a hope of a one day classic. I now have no room to keep it and sadly it must go.

Anyone have any opinions as to whether its worth taxing and MOTing to sell (should be nothing except a couple of tyres) or sticking it on ebay as is?

I would echo that, the MOT is a reasonable (but far from inclusive) test that everything is in a reasonable condition, I think few would buy a car with no MOT, anyway the next thing they would have to do is get it done - The thought would be that there is a big problem somewhere.

Mine had no MOT and TAX when I payed 500 quid for a 2001. MOT her and bang a few extra quid on price to come down for tax.

Personally I wouldnt pay you more than 600 for the car without a MOT/TAX because thats what the cars scrap real world value is. You may get more breaking it, but thats roughly what its worth as a scrap weight.

Im sure others will say its worth 3 grand as always is the case, and some people will always think its worth more than it is, but you you buy a second hand car, from a manufacture that no longer exsists with no MOT?

No matter how good the service history (which is easily faked!), if you got a 1/3 of the cars value, your doing well.

Thanks for all the replies, MOT seems to be the overwhelming favourite. As an update my Vitesse packed up last night so I think the dilemma might be over, the ZT may be back on the road shortly.
Again thanks for the advice
