Oh man that is a heart breaking story and whilst my wife does not approve of all my motoring decisions she would never make me sell up.
How come you didnt get another ZT or deep down have you too had enough?

Gotta say the Meriva is a world away from the ZT and not what I would think a 'Sporting Saloon owner' would have picked. But I guess we all have to make sacrifices sometimes. If you were closer I would be extremely tempted to take it off your hands and probably rebuild it with a new lump.

Tbh I have to say I think it is a difficult decision between spending money on an old car or buying a new one.

As realistically the new car is costing a lot more than to fix the car you already know, as I say it's swings and roundabouts really hope the new car works out ok and serves you better.

Persaonlly I would have gone for repairing my car by sticking a second hand engine in, and most likely would have done it myself with the help of a mate, but thats just me I guess.

Buying and second hand car will always be a risk and I think that you were just unlucky with your ZT mate, there is always good and bad cars in very mark and maybe your ZT was just destined to be a "Friday" car, who knows.

It's such a shame because, as Colvert said, you've been having some very odd problems with your Zed.

I presume from your wording that the Meriva is a temporary measure as it's a million miles away from the ZT - any plans on returning to the sports saloon world... Or even the ZT?

I suppose living so close to Sticker Lane and all that choice of cars, the women folk would have been keen to change and very much part of this decision. I'm so glad that mine's still in love with the 75!

 

Hi Lads thanks for all your comments, no i will still be about the forum from time to time, going back to ZT??????? maybe some day, but TBH there not that many about now in good condition.

Why a Vauxhall, well a sort story, i was ganged up on by my wonderful wife and daughter, i know my daughters motives are its big enough for the grandkids.

Tomorrow i pick up my ZT and its been a hard decision but i am letting it go, so if anybody whats a car for spares, pm me it's going cheap! Steve
