Rover 75 CDTi 03 plate. Just went to go out, waited for glow plugs light to go off then turned key in ignition. Cue lots of flashing lights and clicking sounds but no firing of engine. I've been having a few electrical issues with the central locking and it's been very wet in Bournemouth the past two days plus the car hasn't been driven for 3 days - any ideas ?

Finally - brake pads low light came on on Monday and this is where I was headed - to have them replaced. Is there a cunning safety cut out switch ?

Any advice gratefully received
Mike

Nope 100% flashing lights = knackered battery, a charge may suffice short term but you will experience the problem again, the dervs need quite a strong battery at start up with a large crank amperage, it also does not need to lose much charge before their will not be enough juice to start, as you say everything else will work ok and make you think its not the battery.

I think anything under around 11V will result in a non starter.
