gearbox? clutch?

Had my gearbox replaced recently and at same time had clutch replaced too.
Gearbox wasn't new but had been tested/etc buy clutch was brand new.

Now it seems that it still judders a little in reverse..

And any high revs it sounds like it doesn't want to be there.. I mean only 4/5000 rpm.. not going near red!

Any ideas? Could it be gearing is wrong or gearbox is fitted wrong?

Cheers

I have warranty on the gearbox so if its that I should be fine to have replaced.

I will have to check mounts.. and oil was 75/80 I think.. its the 1.8 non vvc engine if that helps..

Annoying as one problem gets fixed and other is found ha :/

Don't want to upgrade to 135 cams and 52mm TB if this needs sorting first

"Gear Oil EP75W-80" (stated on shops receipt where I bought oil) is what I've put in, and sure this was the oil the garage said to use where I bought the gearbox from.

What are the 2 types of gearboxes used for the ZR?

As I want to make sure that, I haven't got the right oil.. for the wrong gearbox?!

Cheers mate, want to get it checked/changed asap before fudging the gearbox!

Any easy way I can tell what gearbox I'll be using

2004 (54) MG ZR+ 120 Facelift (I'm sure?) haha..

Had a look online as Halford just said "Refer to owners manual" when it came to which oil.. barstewards!

Been to Honda today (Marshall) as they do MG/Rover services..

Been told the way to determine which gearbox I have

R65 - link rod is on top of g/box
PG1 - link rod is directly in

So will be checking that asap, as if I have a pg1 gearbox (as I should) the wrong gear oil is in and needs shipping ASAP!!

Thanks for all the advise guys :D
