The image of the internal relays you show Bren doesn't represent the relay set up in my MKII 180 (2004) even though you state they represent 2003 models onwards.
There are a couple of differences:

Relay No.1 - Left hand indicator (no relay, no working indicator. Indicator doesn't illuminate /flash, make a clicky noise, nothing. Totally inoperative). Replace relay and all is fine.
Relay No.3 - Right hand indicator (remove relay and same as above. A totally inoperative indicator). Replace relay, and all is fine.
Also hazard warning lights are affected (left/right lamps don't flash), dependant on which relay is removed.
With relay 1 or 3 removed, or both relays removed at same time, both rear windows operate, as do the reversing lights, as relays 1 & 3 are for the indicators (on my MKII model).
On my particular saloon, the rear windows don't use a relay. Also, quite surprised that the reverse lamps would need a relay ( unless a relay was employed in hatchbacks to operate the rear wash/wipe when reverse was selected?).
Bren, while we're on the subject of wiring diagrams, what pin number in the BCU does the powerwash wire go to?
You have already told me, but I've lost the info.
Cheers.

That would be BCU connector C0663 pin 5 - going to ground will activate power wash relay and power wash pump.

relays

Hi Rob
i havent had cause to test those relays, just posted these up as so many seem to be missing hand books lol. i have always thought it strange that dash fuse box states relay 1 is reverse lights but only KV6.
regarding the powerwash i wired it in on one of our cars and it didnt work so must have needed programming and as i didnt fancy spending out for that i did a dash switch from MK1. I think it looks nice as it uses one of my blanks up and is illuminated. i expect you know which type i mean its the power wash/ dash dimmer as fitted on mk1 and civic,s.
i easy enough to wire up using one of my spare relays from the shed, the advantage you get is you can wash the headlamps when you want and are not restricted to them operating every 5th use of the screen wash when lights are on. didnt fancy them operating when i didnt need them to lol. you can see switch in pic below under water temp gauge .

Cheers Bren.
I've got the blank filled in too, with the rheostat , but minus the headlamp wash button.
Have you wired in the dimmer?
Even with a multimeter, I'll be dammed if i can get it to work! lol.
The back of the switch appears to have all the wiring in place for the headlamp wash, as well as the dimmer connections, but i can't make head nor tale of it. The only thing missing is the actual powerwash button (it's still blanked off).
I'm only interested in the dimmer functionality anyway, to be honest.
So a nice clear "How to wire in a MK I and a
Civic rheostat" would be great!
Hint.
