Hi all.
Went to start my "v" reg diesel this morning only for her to fail to start....turning over but no ignition.....don't think my rear fuel pump has ever worked but i had half a tank of diesel in her.....I brayed on the under bonnet pump and the filter and she started 1st time.....did school run stopped and started fine 4 or 5 times in a row....
So...I thought i would bung in some fuels system cleaner £15 one bottle from Halfrauds and filled her up at the local garage....Went to start her and for some reason started her with the clutch pedal depressed....she started but as i pulled away she stared to bang and clunk from the gear box 1st seemed ok just a little noisey 2nd very clunky 3rd 4th ok.....drove her about 2 miles home and parked her up.....
So i thought i would take her to my mechanic for him to look at and she started 1st time and no clunking in any gears....I thrashed her around the estate but she seems fine...
Any ideas.....I think I may be needing a clutch as on occasion if fully loaded or on a steep hill she slips....
Could this be the death of her...as a new clutch and DMF are out of my pocket depth at the mo....shame as she has 13 moth MOT and 6 months tax...
