good morning all
people ask for information on here to be able to help them in their quest to rectify problems , cjj does excellent guides.....i have been repairing my own cars and a few others for around 30 years now ...i dont know everything and my way of doing things is not to everyone's taste or methods, i work safely, i methodically approach stubborn faults which are not easily identified.....

the point of this thread ....i own an MG TF most problems i comment on are MGF or TF related ....but to the individual that has been around for a few months less than me ....keep your nose out of my comments....i offer advice not solutions and to class my abilty to offer a viable repair or diagnosis is beyond a joke ......obviously their e-mail to me via the outside of the forum ......i am not going to name but needless to say your comments of the verbal dioreha variety need certainly beeping out ........i dont think i have met you.....certainly fortuitous on my part

i will offer my advice ...whether or not it is acted on is the owners prerogative NOT YOURS

Paul - don't take this muppets comments to heart - I have only been on this forum for two months, but I have already used a few of your snippets of advice and they have come in so handy.

I for one will always listen to any advice given from members of this forum - and then I make an informed decision about using that advice - it does hack me off when forum members come on to someones post and make disparaging comments, or even just try to rip the member apart. If you do not know for definate, these forums are excellent for help, but there are a few that get some kind of twisted fun from trying to bring people down.

Paul - just keep the advice coming - I for one will listen!

Paul,

As said above, do not waste your time on people that do not deserve that by their behavior. Just ignore them. too many members left this forum because of this kind of people.

Do not let them win. Not worth it... Keep up the good work :)

You are more restrained than I'd be. If that happened to me, I would copy and paste the entire email on here for all to see, along with the name of the muppet - then if I believe the abuse and language too offensive, possible legal action.

The only problem with the internet is that you run into people you absolutely would not care to know in the real world.

I agree ^^^^^^^^

Then we could all email them with our thoughts.

I guess they emailed you rather than comment on a post of yours for the whole world to see??
That way we'd all know who the coward was.

( awaits email ) ;)

I'm quite shocked by this really, I've only met you in person the once at the FRL and without sounding too bad ( :p ) you are a thoroughly nice bloke and your thoughts and opinions on here are normally a good read. I do agree that naming and shaming is a bad idea but hopefully they will read this thread and think about what they are doing.
This site is a brilliant tool for everyone to throw in ideas and help others

Just ignore the braindead comments Paul, He/She is obviously jealous of your knowledge. If it wasn't for you and others who provided Hints Tips And Advice, people would have been stung with huge repair and fixing bills, I for one have found these shared "How To's" a god send. Only recently CJJ offered me a hint what to look for on my recent breakdown and sure enough it was spot on. So keep it up :broon:

Hi Paul, sorry to hear about this mate :( Is this what you get for trying to help people. Over the past two years i have learnt so much from people on this forum and i'm very grateful.

I too recently had a few quite nasty emails which dropped into my website inbox, accusing me of showing off and posting none meaningful posts.. I wont name and shame as their time will come, but these days i think 7 or 8 times before i post anything !!!!

Personally i feel some people just want to pic fights on the threads and i didnt sign up for that.. I have met some fantastic people on here, some of who will be friends for life...

I think CJJ posted "its so hard to diagnose problems on a forum" I agree with him, but at least he does his best and so do a lot of other people...

Thats my take
Peace & Love To The Real People

Hey Paul,

I have this very day completed a 'How To' ish type guide that I thought might be of use on here but this sort behaviour makes me think whether or not it's worth it?

I will probably still go ahead and post because I want to share my experience that will hopefully help others as others (including yourself) have helped me over the past two years.

It's a real shame this sort of things occurs, particularly to the likes of yourself who genuinely want impart knowledge and help wherever possible. The problem of being in the spotlight is as Clive has said, and sadly, you can get shot at!

I know it won't deter you and so it shouldn't as the forum is better place with you amongst it!!

Everyone here is an adult and as such you should know when to take advice, ignore it or what not. No one is responsible for any mistakes you do out of a guide, and as said, this is your own way of doing things.

And as I keep saying, if anyone has any problems with what I say or do, get on the plane and tell me in person. Too many keyboard warriors over here.

Paul,
Like you, I offer advice to people on this forum if I think I can help in any way.
I also seach the forum for help and the wealth of 'How To's' is incredible.
We all learn about these cars from our own experiences and the experiences of others such as yourself.

Keep posting!

I for one, learn from every post on here!
