Looks like Abu Dhabi GP will be interesting as McLaren looks strong in this circuit. Hamilton came second after Vettel in practise session one and in practise session two he(Hamilton) had the fastest time.

This may well turn out to be a circuit where the Mclaren does well. I just had a quick look at the corner's and they all seem like relatively low speed corners, where the Mclaren holds it's own.

Given the Mclaren seems to be fastest in a straight line then the 2 Mclaren's may well have a major impact on this race. If Hamilton won, this race, Button came 2nd, Vettle 3rd, Alonso's engine went and Webber crashed or finished 6th or lower then technically he could still win the WDC. He needs a miracle, but this circuit may actually play in his favour. For the record I seriously doubt it will though.

Well you cannot deny the lap time he did last year. He really did get to grips with the track. That is a fact I said it then and I'll say it again.

Still, if Hamilton does win, it takes the big points haul off Webber / Vettel giving Alonso a better shot at the title!

Whatever happens, none of the 4 possibilities are not deserving of the title. They've all made mistakes at some point, they've all had their off moments and have all had moments of brilliance.
Personally hope Hamilton wins it (because by default that means there's plenty of action up front) or failing that, Webber, but that's down to personal preference and a dislike for Alonso's eyebrows ;)

Nice to see someone else with a dislike for Alonso's eyebrows - everytime they interview him I get drawn to his eyebrows as they do look odd.

He apparalently waxes his legs so fingers crossed he does the brows next.

Interesting qualifier. If Mclaren can edge their way to 1st and second, with Vettle then down in third then we could have a fascinating battle for the WDC. Alonso has a really old engine with plenty of mileage on the clock and Webber could try something desperate. This could really go any number of ways still.

Personally I think Vettle may win the WDC.

Alonso has a really old engine with plenty of mileage on the clock .
You forgot the special rules for the Ferrari!

One of Alonso's eight engines has very low mileage, but has been unable to be used because it was replaced after qualifying at the Bahrain season opener.

The rules prevented Ferrari from re-deploying this engine for anything other than free practice sessions, after it was replaced in Bahrain as a precaution due to the F60 almost overheating.

But because Abu Dhabi is the season finale, Alonso is allowed to use any engine in his allocation there, and the Bahrain qualifying unit is extremely low on mileage

A last lap of Vettel , Webber then Alonso would be 'interesting'. Even more interesting if Vettel accidentally has to lift off and then Alonso doesn't finish that lap. Would Webber reciprocate to give his buddy the crown ? (again if my maths are correct)
I guess there's going to be some radio malfunctions out there..

Am I alone in believing Jenson Button has a good chance of winning tomorrow?

Button now out of the running for the drivers' Championship, fourth on the grid, Mr. Ultra-smooth-cool behind the wheel can relax and enjoy a pressure off drive ~ team orders ( Oh yes there are ) allowing.

With the frantic pair Vettel and Hamilton going for it up front, and Mr. very careful, there's a Championship to be won ... Alonso just behind them, I believe Jenson Button has a chance of winning the event tomorrow if, as I and some others anticipate, those in front of Button get entangled.

Button appears to have a car that now suits his style although that may be a false impression.

Button is fourth on the grid. He's 9-4 with both Hills and Bet365 for a podium. 20-1 for the win ( 25-1 prior to qualifying ). I think I'll have a bit of that 9-4 for a podium.... fully aware of the old saying.. The best laid plans etc ...:)

One race to go before the far too long winter break. I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms already ... :yikes: ..

Fair point Hamilton has to drive the nuts of the car to grab 1st place. But so does Vettle. That said I think Hamilton will grab first and in the confusion I can see Button grabbing second. Which would be a disaster for Vettle.

I just hope if that happens Alonso has engine failure and Webber crashes off....

Alonso's bad manners came into play again. Just after crossing the finishing line after Vitaly Petrov, Alonso then brings his car alongside Petrov's, blaming Petrov for causing him the WDC. Excuse me, lol, Petrov has a right to drive for position too

Alonso's fans will blame Ferrari for poor tactics, but at the time it seemed the right thing to do.

Alonso is consistent but not fast enough. He had to take risks like Lewis has done in the past to win the WDC. He didn't have the ability to do that. Massive fail, playing right into the hands of his critics.

Codemasters have entered into the spirit of things and released a second patch for their coveted game "F1 2010". The patch adds a couple of settings for drivers of the Ferrari to allow them to throw items out of their cockpit as well as swear & gesticulate at passing drivers.

Well done Vettel a worthy winner :)

As for Alonso :hysteria: What a complete and utter tool that guy is, his behaviour after the race when he came along side Petrov proves what a bad sportsman he is. He should maybe consider the reason he was behind is his overated ability :pram:
