Considering most 1.3 cars don't do 100mph, it's not bad at all...

A Ford Fiesta 1.3 does 96 Flat out, and 0-60 in 14.8sec.... it aint doing bad...

Book says 105 for the 84bhp, 112 for the 103 BHP.

110 Seems "underpowered".

Turn off Aircon, shut windows, don't have a full fuel tank... and see the difference.

Also, wind direction can make 5-10 mph difference....

hmmm that is sluggish....

Mine will beat or at least keep up with most 1.6's and i havnt got the fancy performance stuff like urs!

my clock read 120 top speed and with my 17's i gotta add on 5.95%..... (but then i suppose take the same off for speedo innacuracy!)

Also..you are aware that you will go faster in 4th gear than 5th? (i hope u are!!)

and if it is the 84ps 1.4 then u def need to get the 52mm TB...you should see speeds of 125 with all the other stuff uve got.

Will you? I've heard this before, but I find that hard to believe. I just got back from holiday in Austria. So I could finally see how fast my car is on the autobahn in Germany and it did a little over 225 km/h (145 mph) on the speedo. I don't think it would have gone any faster in 4th gear ;).

only reason you can get a higher speed in 4th in a 1.4 is because there isn't enough power for 5th

engine will be doing less revs at 105mph in 5th than in 4th, so providing you had the mods to increase power you can go further up the revs

when my R25 was standard I could do just over 115, after mods and a big increase in power I could do 130mph (I was at 4700rpm and in the red though :()

That theoratical gearspeeds of the ZR160 are pretty much what's possible in real life.
When the road was going a little downhill (on the Autobahn, so perfectly legal) the car was doing 150 (on the speedo) and still going. I had to slow down for someone who was overtaking, but I'm sure I would have hit the end of the speedo at 7k rpm.

BTW Why is the theoratical topspeed of the ZR120 higher than that of the ZR160?

Suzuki swift

My Suzuki swift did 127 with 2000 rpm left to redline. My little monster is a 1.3 dohc Gti. It still did 0-60 in 6.9 seconds. I dont know the quarter mile time yet but hopefully at trax.

The reason i'm saying this is because engine size doesnt really matter for speed. My swift is chipped with full s/steel exhaust and rally cams. Not to mention the monster s/steel filter.

Its probably letting out 160bhp, considering it is 110bhp standard.

I advise any real racer to buy a swift gti for the weekends.......
