if your fully comp and are going through insurance they usually insist you use there approved company's or they wont pay out for the repairs mate.

your best ringing round mate, there's plenty of well known company's that do it.

There's loads more, your best bet if your paying yourself is to play them off against each other, get a price from one and ring another and tell them that price, they usually try and beat it.

they may be able to repair the windscreen without replacing it mate, depends on the stone chips really, i know my insurance doesnt cover repairs though, just replacements, which is a little daft because itd be lots cheaper to repair it, so just make sure your insurance does cover repairs.

And £300 was the lowest id found some were £400+

 

criky, i never relised windscreens were sooo much !!
Just read up on my insrance and the terms are that if i get it replaced, i have to pay £50 excess but if i get it repaired then it doesnt cost anything but i have to use thier company. So i propbally do that.

Yeah, my dads was over £600 for a bwm one, but he claimed it off the insurance where he paid the excess £50 and this doesn't make you lose your NCB.

he had about 3-4 chips in the windscreen, the company said that over 2 they won't repair chips.

Have a bash at it and if it doesnt work phone a windscreen company.

 

Welll i could either buy the crack repair DIY kit for £20 or
get my insurance to come out and do it for free.

As ashy says, a good diy'er this, just make sure you cure it afterwards otherwise it'll need re-doing at a later date and turn yellow.......Most decent windscreen repair dudes use a UV light to cure the fix, but you can use good ol sunlight (not had much of that lately though.......
