ive been slowly aquiring all the things i need to do the conversion just been putting it off and now my headgasket has given up, im going to use this chance to do it.
ill get some photos uploaded soon if anyones interested, but was just wondering if i can get away with putting the VVC cylinder head on my 120 block? any help with this would be aprreciated.
From looking at photos and things the piston cut outs to clear the valves look the same on both (ill happily be corrected if im wrong!)
ive have the VVC engine loom, ECU, the black 5AS box and key fob.
Can anyone think of anything else i will need?
Any guidence is aprreciated! :)
Thanks

You will need, loom ecu and head. Don't forget the injectors are different.

I think you'll be ok for pisons. I have 32.5mm inlet valves and only have a 120 bottom end. Bear in mind my head is not VVC but my valves are bigger.

Bottom end will be fine mate..

Just need

Head
Engine loom
ECU set
160 injectors

Not really needed but will be better;

160 Inlet manifold with 52mm TB
160 exhaust manifold and down pipe

and youll be sorted.. :broon:

Thanks for the replies!

ive got 160VVC inlet manifold with the 52mm throttle body and injectors, also have the 160 exhaust system to put on.
the ECU, 5AS and fob with engine wiring loom, do i need to replace the reciever? remember reading that you have to but not sure.

ive been through the wiring loom checking all connectors before i swap it over (tomorrow hopefully) and there 2 connectors i am not sure of my car is the 120+ without air con so not sure if that will explain it. one connector runs with all of the wires to the charcoal cannister and has what looks to be a valve or solenoid with two pipe connections on it but cannot find what its for.
there is also another connector with the crank position sensor this one is a 3 pin connector (nylon sort of colour) cannot seem to find where this one goes either.
Would be far easier if i could upload the photos but wont let me do it!

Ill keep you all posted and add some photos when i figure out how.
Thanks for the replies!

no i havent fitted the vvc head yet that will hopefully be tomorrows job.
oh right, do people disconnect them then when fitting a non standard back box? can see this end up being easier said than done.

ah right, i have the vvc manifold and cat but my own stainless cat back exhaust system, ill just leave it disconnected in that case then. thanks for the help is appreciated- would have spent hours trying to read up about it

ill leave the solenoid plugged in then for the time being hopefully it wont bing any engine management lights up and be ok until i find some more information about how it works, looks as though there were two small pipes going to it which i dont have annoyingly. was it used to open a vavle in the exhaust system somewhere depending on the numbers of revs on the engine or something?
