I rang a local garage today to get a quote for some work doing on my zs. I told him i have a mg zs and he replied saying 'is that a rover... I'm afraid i don't touch them'.

It just got me thinking that's all...

One my garages out this way refused to do the timing belt on my R8 214SLi 16v I had ages ago - apparently they had arsed up the job on one, knackered the engine and ended up fitting another.

Fair play, they fixed it, but wouldn't do another - wonder if the OP's chap had similar concerns...

Lol guys, that's what i thought to myself that these cars are easy to wok on. I didn't talk ti him any further, just said ok thanks bye now.

They're not worth it the cheeky sods. He must be frightened mate DaDragon.

Using mobile so apologies if not replying to all properly.

This. Before you all go slagging somebody off you have no idea what troubles he may have had previously with one.

How many times do you hear folk say (I'm one regarding VW Passats), never again.
Not a slant on the car just his experiences. A bad mechanic is one that takes the car then ***** it up knowing he probably would.

Up to him whether he takes the job. Maybe he's got enough easy work and it's not worth his while. I had a garage make a proper bodge of a HG change on my 200 and I had to do it myself in the end as they claimed the engine to be unfixable (probably was to them). Better not to get in situation.

Btw - what was the job?
