Back seats and pull the boot cover off? Or get it up enough so you can get the seats down?

Yep - mine are in my tool cupboard, theyre crap quality anyway haha.

 

You need to get hold of the top of the rear seat catch indicator rod on the top of the rear seat and pull it up to release the catch - the rear seat squab can then be lowered to get into the loadspace area.

If you need to open the tailgate when the fob won't release the tailgate catch, on the facelift/Mk2 cars there is an access hole at the top of the casing of the tailgate catch through which you can manually trip the latch by pulling on the cable with a suitable screwdriver or something similar:

 

What jump leads ?

If I did carry some and I had a mk2, I would probably hide them under the drivers seat or just suck it up and have to climb in the boot from the back if I wanted them.

 

I keep mine in the car with the best battery!

 

why are people telling him how to open the boot, when all he needs is to get the jumpleads from the boot (via the rear bench) :lol:

 

Does the zr not have a manual boot release like a zs?.

 

The Mk2 does not have an exterior button, relying on the 3-button fob instead. It has a hidden interior release as indicated.
