Our soft black roof is looking like it could do with a little bit of colour enhancement in places, is this possible? or is there a recomended product to help preserve and protect?

Renovo do a 3 part kit (all parts available seperately) of Cleaner , coloured REVIVER, Proofer. Search button at top of page or google.

I may have missed where you are so post may be easier or the Renovo International site may suggest stockists (sorry, I buy it from Brown & Gammons in Baldock, 11 miles away).

For a quick and easy makeover use ................Shoe Polish!! I tried after another member on hear suggested it, use the liquid one with the sponge on the end, you'll need three or four of them to do the whole roof, be careful when you go around the windows etc as it can drip. If it goes on your windows wipe it immediately with a cloth with some window cleaner on it. I did mine a couple of months ago and it still looks like its just been done and for a total cost of ÂŁ2.48!

Auto glym is good for cleaning the hood itself and good for waterproofing but the kits I have seen don't contain anythig to re colour the hood itself.
Whereas renovo is available in black and blue colours which does re stain the hood.
Boot poslish is god for colouring but if you lean on it even after a few weeks you wil get a black arm..(got that t shirt.! )
I have used both now and my vote goes for the renovo
Ebay sellers can do it for ÂŁ18 shipped

Renovo is expensive but I haven't heard a bad thing about it.

I used Auto Glym and reckon I was a little too gentle with the scrubber.

The initial results were superb and even now, after three months they're great but I fancy having another go [but I do like it as new].

Would definately recommend the auto glym for the price.

Loads of 'usefull' answers up there and nought wrong with the AutoGlym cleaner or proofer BUT .........

the OP wanted "a little bit of colour enhancement in places" to freshen up the COLOUR of the hood and (other than shoe polish or Marmite) Renovo is the product. It is available in a (fairly small) range of colours.

That's great, thanks very much for all that advice, I would never of thought of using liquid shoe polish! Cant believe it really works!!
However when it rains it looks like its just soaking into the roof, it obviously doesnt leak however I may be better investing in the kit in-order to protect it.
