Hi
Im new to this site and im not sure if their is a thread for this already!!! So apologies if their is one!!!
I have just googled this site as i have just purchased a rover 200 1800petrol 5door. And after all the rain we have had at the moment i noticed a leak in my back passenger footwell. when we looked in the boot we assumed it was coming from my rear lights and running down into the footwell through the boot. Having sealed and replaced the seals in my lights i still have the problem. My roof is dry my door interiors are dry...also my front passenger footwell is as dry as a bone it is only the back footwell. their was a slight damp patch behind the drivers side but since sealing the light that has cleared up so that must have been caused from the light!!!Please could you help me!!
Thanks

Well after having no rain for the past few days!! Me and my fiance decided to take matters into our own hands to find the leak we found that the boot was wet and proceeded to gut my boot and put the seats back and poor water over the boot!! in doing so found water leaking through a pipe in the boot. Upon taking my bumper off their was the smallest of holes and the water was leaking through this and then through the hole of this tube. We have sealed that with bathroom sealent (all that we had to hand at the time!!!) up and since then TOUCH WOOD no water!!! I will upload photos of the offending area and were it was coming threw!!!

Sorry about the spelling trying to type whilst im having my lunch at work!!!!

Left hand side leak-the pipe is either your sunroof drain pipe (if you have one) I think they run that side lol! Or, it will be the rear wash wipe tube that's split (common problem). If you open your boot and have alook at the top there are two rubber grommits-the right hand one is the electrical wiring for the tailgate loom-the left hand one houses the rear-wash wipe tube-it splits here. You can use an adapter from aquarium pipes. Does your rear-wash wipe work? Another common problem is that the washer part (where the wiper is) get's blocked and the hose can come off and then spew water everywhere.

Si:)

leakin boot

yea i got the same problem, i tried doin the same as wats listed above i didnt take off the rear bumper, however i did pull the passenger side pannel away to find about 1 cm of water collecting in the body behind the pannel, covered little rust holes and gaps on roof under black strip and on boot hinge but still water gets in, ive foned my local garage up as i didnt have the time to take my car appart to find where the leak was comin from so on wednesday ill put on here where it was and wat was done to stop the water in my boot and passenger footwell so other people can do the same

boot leak

alryte peeps all tho we didnt really have a downpour like the other week from wat rain we did have since gettin my car sorted, my car wasnt wet in the boot or in the back passenger footwell. even in the outer pannel behind the back passenger pannel didnt have 1inch of water, so in all i reckon that ÂŁ52 was worth it rather then me wastin money by lookin myself in time that i didnt have :)
