Good evening.

Im toying with the idea of converting my 1.8k series to a turbo. Would like to use the same block and head. Just trying to find a parts list of whats needed. The car has the pg1 gear box. Just need to find out what other parts are required. Like pistons. But do i need to change rods. Not going for mental power. Any help that would be brilliant.

Kind regards

Jay

Ps i know this question has been asked before. Just struggling to find the list

Hi jay pistons are the same if you have the 1.8 k series vvc ? The only difference on the turbo engine is the conrods are 2mm shorter to lower compression also different is the oil filter housing and a boss for the oil return to block hope this helps

If I was you though I would look at getting a donor turbo engine it would be cheaper and less hassle than rebuilding yours unless you plan on doing it as a hobby/ a bit of fun … as you could use the Saic 1.8 tse engine which would be just as easy

Hope this helps mate any advice you need don’t be afraid to hit me up I like seeing people giving it ago at a hobby level, as that is what I would class myself as
