Yes, you read it right. I know plenty have converted F to TF but do we know anyone know has done the reverse?

I much prefer the F styling, but they are gettig old now and it would be good to buy a newish TF, but convert it to F lights, bumpers, rear.

Realistically, you could reverse engineer the bootlid, front bumper assembly, hood and interior with relative ease.

The side scoops would involve panel modification and of course you're well aware of the suspension and steering rack differences which are virtually insurmountable.

I reckon with a budget of ÂŁ1.5k and a month of work you could do it.

Edit: re hydgas ride quality, if you were to choose shocks and springs accordingly (adjustable) I'm sure you could achieve similar results.;)

No Mog, not that much. I just mean swap boot lids (they are the same , jsut different style), need to convert front bumper lights obviously. hood and interior are also the same. There would be no need to do anything with suspension/steering etc. I just mean cosmetics..i.e F looks, the rest is just a MKIII F anyway :dddc:

Ah....I thought you'd prefer the 'retro' MK1 dials and seats. The door pods are different from F to TF.

The last production TFs had better shocks and a smoother ride IIRC.;)

EDIT: I agree with the MKIII comment.

He's right, you are a loon.

Looks aside, you want to remove headlights that work and put ones that would fail as a cheap torch, you want to remove a bootlid that has been designed to give better downforce and stability and fit one that hasn't?

It is all personal taste I supose.

Have you considered the LE500 bumper? Still the same lights but looks more retro.

As for your question, then yes, it is doable, apart from the sharper side vents which may look at odds with the softer F styling. You would probably have to go the filler route to change their profile.

Still an interesting project though.

I love this idea and have toyed with it myself. I think if i was going to do it id leave the boot lid and just change the rear bumper front lights (trophy style with hid kit) and front bumper. I have seen this done before actually on a TF 115, there was a thread on here about it somewhere...

Nice idea Broon and maybe better than all the time and effort of fixing Maggie. I guess its limiting your choice by having to look for a silver TF so you can match your F bits in. As an alternative if you find a TF at a good price, maybe getting your F bumper and bootlid resprayed would be a better option - all depends what comes up for sale:)

Got to agree with the comments above about the F lights though - If you do get a TF, just don't drive it at night until you get the lights swapped over or you won't want to do it:lol:

broon stop procrastinating and get out in the rain and get maggie salvaged, there can't be anything majorly rotten or failed form just sitting for a year just a long list of crap horrible jobs that need attacking, you'll be honestly suprised how quickly you'll get them done once you set in and get the worst ones done (mainly drilling those snapped subframe bolts).

I just took 2 weeks off work to fix it and all that I accomplished was more scars on my knuckles, two more snapped bolts, the breather tube and the speed sensor snapped off the gearbox and ÂŁ4,325 in the swearbox.
