I haveing an annoying problem with the tbar roof, where the car is flexing I think it is makeing the plastic streech or something when I go over bumps.

It is not major but really annoying, Has anyone else had this? do they no how to fix it?

I think its one of those things. Iv used some rubber polish from autoglym and that seems to cut it down but I think its a winter thing where the rubber seals are hard and make an annoying noise as the car flexes slightly.

I have exactly the same at the mo mate.

I'm going to try re-greasing the seals as soon as we get a warmish day.

Other than that I've heard other Coupe owners say that a front strut brace stopped any flexing noises. Maybe worth a try, its on my list at some point anyway.

I have a front and rear strut brace on order. Im trying to work out excatly what is causing it, I have got new handle's on order.
does this happen on all the coupe's, what about when the are brand new, I cant belive they would be able to sell a car with this happening.

I have many mates with Coupes and its only really a few that have this problem, age regardless.

I'm going to be doing some experimenting with the Targa too, so let me know what you sort out will ya?

As for strut braces, most of the companies such as OMP, sparco etc do em, evan Rover do one:naughty:

The mk3 and mk2 struts are the same I believe.:err:

I used some Halfords rubber lubricant (cant remember the full name!). Comes in a yellow aerosol can. Take the glass right out and rub plenty in to all the rubber sealling strips. Lasts a few months.

Seems to be worse on a sunny day after a lot of cold or wet weather.

Mine has no squeaks from the roof - use the Halfords 'Nylon/rubber lubricant' (yellow can) or good old WD-40 around the t-bar joints and on the hinge slot things and the handles (squirt in the joint between the handle and glass.

I have a strut brace and there was a notable reduction in t-bar creaking - especially when climbing onto a curb etc. :D

I use the same Halfords rubber lubricant on mine. The previous owner also used it.

Seems to do the trick as I don't get any squeeks from mine :D
Ah yes - the halford rubber lubricant trick - the previous owner must have been a real bright bloke - you know the type, smarter than the average bear! :D
