Alright matey ive got 17'' 205/40/R17 on mine and i dont get a rub on full lock or when braking. Unless ur tyre's are too wide? im not sure about the offset try a search on google :broon:

 

Firstly, check the offset value for the wheels you've bought, if this is incorrect, the combination of that and the wider tyres (205mm tyre width is tandard for the ZR/25 platform) could cause issues. The correct offset value for the 25/ZR is ET 38 - 45. Anything between these values should be ok, but the wider tyres could cause problems.

If these are both fine, the vibration could be down to improperly balanced wheels (were they balanced when you bought them?) but if it's mainly under braking, it could also be warped brake discs. Is it mainly low speed (30mph and lower) braking where you get the vibration?

 

Hmmm well i belive the offset if like 36...and i have actualy orderd some 3mm spacers so hopefully this might help...

Im just a little confused as i know my tyres are pretty wide at 215, but i can put my fingers between the inner edge of the tyre all around...

And the tyres were all new on the rim when i bought them so im guessing they were.... but mite be worth having them all balanced tbh...

Also im pretty sure its not my breaks!

 

were they the right bore size, or have you used spigots?

 

sorry have to retire, but before I go............... if you don't run on spigots if the bore size of the wheels doesn't match your hub diamater, the wheel will not center on the bolts/studs alone and causes vibration and can damage the bolts/studs to the point of shearing them off.

If the centre hole in the wheel is too big for the size of the flange around the centre of the hub, you use a spigot ring which is a metal spacer which fits into the central hole of the wheel to make it the correct size.

also why dont you get a bit smaller tyres on them ive got 205/40/r17 diamondback's on my alloys and they dont rub 1 bit, only the back do if my car is full and thats if i go over speed bumps etc

 

My alloys are made for 215's.

205's will have to be strech fit if its even possible and it looks crap...

 

Thanks a lot matey!! my offset is 36 so i have ordered 3mm Spacers that should hopefully be here soon...

My wheels are being balanced in the morning and also going to order some spigots!
Hopefully this will solve my problem.

If not ill probably be posting it here again lmao!

 

Just tried my spacers and it no longer rubs on full lock which is a bonus BUT it still have the vibration noise!

couldn't get my wheels balanced today ether so will try in the morning, and also ordered some spigots hopefully will solve everything!!

 

also check the tread of the tyres...i know they are new but ive had a couple of tyres b4 and they was uneven and made a right noise but was also aufull to drive as they were on the front
