I need to remove the battery and it's housing on my MGZT 190+ (to get to the ABS unit underneath).

I have see a bolt at the bottom of the plastic battery holder and also a strap that's going around the battery.

If I take the strap off it doesn't look easy to put it back... what's the right way to take this all out so I can put it back in??

Thanks, Tim

The strap doesn't need to be removed from the battery box. Before disconnecting the battery ensure you know the radio code and any other security codes as applicable. Ensure you know how to do the recode afterwards.

Disconnect the battery terminals and loosen the strap. Slacken and remove the lower bolt holding the battery clamp plate. The battery should now lift out. At the bottom of the plastic box are four Torx mounting bolts holding the battery tray to the chassis. Remove these bolts. You may have to release cable ties on the box and maybe other bits of hardware before lifting it out.
