Scumbags at it again.

Had a neighbour knock on my door this afternoon with some timely heads up advice. Lives a few dozen houses away at the other end of our avenue. Some bags of excrement helped themselves to all the alloys on his Rover overnight. Left it on the discs. The alloy wheels were fitted with locking wheel nuts but silly boy, left the locking nut key in the glove box .... I always drill the locking key and keep it on my Ignition key ring with the fob... see final picture.

This is how they entered the locked vehicle. No class ......His battery had run flat so the alarm did not sound.... :(

A few nights ago, the wheel trims ( cheapo original Rover ones, were removed from my younger son's Rover 25.

This is the sort of 'talent' such types have... removing the roadside drain grill to weigh in for scrap. I know of three such that have disappeared locally. Very dangerous from just about any aspect.

Keep 'em peeled. If it aint screwed down it will not be yours shortly. Ensure your car's battery is up to charge otherwise the alarm will not be active :~

We had a cup of tea and I offered to lend him a set of 620ti Alloys to get his car up and running again. We will need my low entry 3 ton Trolley Jack to get that car up again.

These scumbags are beyond reason .... parasitical on ordinary working class folks struggling to earn a crust. The Police's interest is at it's usual hugely expensive and ineffective ornament level... Another tick in their boxes... that's all it is... didn't they do well.

Didn't used to be like that.

No, anything that is not properly screwed down. Other neighbours with a variety of cars have also been targetted in recent times. Some folks have put three or more large padlocks on their garage doors. It's that bad!

Darn sorry to hear that John. I am guessing they aren't from round your area? Seems pretty quiet round your way.

With the locking wheel nut key, doesn't that weigh down on the ignition barrel a bit though? My ole man always told me never to put to many keys/keyrings on my cars keyring as it could damage the ignition barrel?

Gypsies aka travellers, i bet you any money. There always Hiabing drain covers round here. Police are ******* **** scared of them.

Scum scum scum. A group of people this world can do without, rotten to the core every last one of them.

I "popped" the bonnet, shut the door then locked, before opening the bonnet. Stupid me!

I should have remembered about the hi-tech alarm but it'd been a long time since I'd used the Rover I was a bit rusty on my knowledge

Oh, no... That is really crap, mate. Gutted for you.

It sickens me to the soul that there are people out there who don't see a problem in cherry-picking parts from other people's pride and joy.

As for the missing drain covers; Up here in Scotland, I work in IT and we recently lost contact to one of our sites because some scaffy gits had stolen the copper wire BT had laid down for our data link, so I think the problems like these are nation wide.

Scumbags indeed, unfortunately such things will continue to happen whist the prices for scrap metals are so high, to be fair the problem wouldn't be so bad if there was a clampdown on the cash only no questions asked scrap dealers with bigger fines and risk of closure of business if caught with stolen metal.

Hope you can help your neighbour out with a set of Vitties if needed John.

I had one knock on my door a little while back asking if I wanted a mattress  "It's in good condition", yeah maybe it is, but what council estate family did you obtain it from :hysteria: I kindly said no thank you as I already had one.

Last week i was at work delivering produce for Iceland, i pulled up in my truck at the Sedgley store in the West Midlands,a large Iveco van pulled up with a large metal tipper on the back (empty) with 3 young men in the cab,the driver jumped out and asked me `if i minded if he took 30 odd empty cages` belonging to Iceland!(30 empty cages weigh in at a good couple of tonnes,Brand new ones are stainless steel and they cost around ÂŁ150 each !!! )I replied "i would`nt if i were you"
He then said "OH fxxk Icelands mate!" so i told him to leave or i,d ring the police at which point he shouted a few insults and got back in his vehicle and drove away with his lovely chums.
I got his registration and reported it to the local plod so hopefully one day..........
disgraceful stuff.

That additional tax would head elsewhere. Where else is the money coming from to fund the huge army of retired public sector pensions, many taken very early.

It's all got out of hand and all the people are at fault, yes every one of us, for entrusting the well being of this Nation to those who are well cushioned against the realities the rest of us face daily that their ineffective measures provide........ and it's getting worse.... by the day!

Spend the money on Trading Standards action on scrappies.

Way more efficient than trying to police the thieving pikies on the street.

Cut off the demand for illegal scrap. Then the market for stolen scrap dries up.

Trading Standards are already stepping all over the fly-by-night pikie workmen.....this is why they're moving onto scrap thieving.

Close the legal loopholes that the 'travelling communities' exploit. ;)
