Anyone know when rover recalled vehicles because of faulty springs, I,ve put a thread on here aboults bolts snapping ,on the ask the guru thread I was told the springs might have gone and taken anti-roll bar with it.
Do you think its too late to get anyone to fix it free if its dodgy springs.or am I going to have to cough up the cash for this.
Its not a good start to my relationship with my 75 ,I,ve only had it a month.I,ve had my rover p6 for years and no problems have happened with this.which is why when I sold mondeo I decided to stick with rover.

The recall effected cars built up to around 2001 but not the Tourers, so it's mainly the Cowley built ones and early Longbridge cars. They were recalled to be modified. The spec for the springs was modified from painted to powder coated due to issues with stress corrosion cracking.

Search the forums using the search button above under "Rover 75 springs" as this subject has been covered at length in the past. If the car was done, the service book should have been stamped and a dab of black paint put on the offiside suspension turret in the engine bay (green on black cars).

For your information, the issue with failure of suspension springs is not confined to Rovers and has occured on many other types of car in recent years.
