If you've undone the relative bolts on the carrier then just knock it out.

 

if you've not got it done yet, check there aren't any retaining clips still holding. the pads usually come out fairly easy once they're ready.

 

all done thanks for advice in the end gave it a tap with hammer and hey presto came out, just didnt want to force and then do more damaged

You can't really do any damage to them as they are solid lumps of cast iron designed to take abuse. Unless you are brutal shouldn't need to worry.
