The clock as missing pixels and I wish to replace it. I have a Haynes owners workshop manual which tells me how. Part is to remove the audio unit with two U-shaped rods which are inserted into four small holes in the front of the unit to release the unit retaining clips. My unit does not have these 4 holes! It does have VDO on the middle front and is code protected. Can anyone advise how to get this audio unit out. I'm reluctant to start without having a full plan. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

To remove centre console 1- remove rear console; 2- front seats fully back; 3- remove the audio unit as described n chapter 12.......;
to Chapter 12 where it talks about needing two U-shaped rods to fit into two pairs of holes to the left and right of the unit.

clock

i suspect with your model 45 the clock is a traffic master type, if so when you replace it get a standard clock without traffic master as they are more reliable. the lcd is a bit smaller but the unit will fit your car.
the traffic master clocks are rubbish and the pixels always go in the end, also the traffic info has been discontinued so no point in having one anyway.
regarding clock replacement, as mentioned above flip the radio surround off with a flat head screw driver which will reveal the 2 holes for removal tool. with the radio out if you also remove the the fitting cage it will give some extra room to get your hand up behind to remove the clock.
the clock is held in position by 2 cross head screws, use a stubby screwdriver and the can be removed, then just unplug clock.
if you try it this way you can leave the console in place so will save alot of time.
