Might sound a stupid question but how do i fit it? i got it today with all the screws etc. is it easy (please:O )?
Thanks
Thanks
they are spring clips that fit over the bumper moulding, the self tappers then screw into them, and from Spikes thread, you HAVE to remove the bumper to fit it.mattcymru said:quickie, i only have ten screws and five sort of washer looking things (???) what screws in where if anyone knows, cant work out spikes screwing instructions!
it will be obvious when you remove the bumper, the mesh and clips can only fit one way.mattcymru said:so if i have ten screws anf five spring clips, which of the ten screws do i screw into the five spring clips (god i wish i knew more bout this sorta thing!)?
yep, all on my own, easy jobby, one Saturday morning, bout 3 hours. Just have something soft on the ground (old carpet/rug) to place the bumper on (its veru light) once its off.mattcymru said:okay thanks for your help. did u do yours on your own Pete? would u consider it an easy job/time consuming?
from what I remember, the 5 clips went on the top with self tappers and just the self tappers on the bottom, but could be other way round. Mines an MGR OE black one, maybe what Spike fitted was different, don't know. Did the clips/screws come with the mesh, if so you should be fine. And no, didn't use thread lock, but its a good idea.mattcymru said:ill try the w/end if its dry then, wish i hadn't bothered now thought im bound to break something. but just to re-assure myself, ten screws and five spring clips are enough? also did you use liquid threadlock as well (as spike suggested)?
thankyou very much!
AHHHHH!!They must have changed the fittings then at some point, thats why Matt has 5 clips then.Im so confused right now .petevick said:that is deffo different to mine, it only had 5 tabs, you screwed straight into the bumper on the other side, ergo only 5 clips required, kinda weird.
btw Spike, whats happened to DEATH (he speaks in capitals you know), altho the new avvy is quite fun
