Radio codes and 6x9 speakers

Ladies and Gents,
My recently acquired 2.0 ltr CDT tourer is crying out for a better stereo system. Although the Symphony head unit is nice, I prefer a single Cd player with a 10 disc changer located inthe boot. That way I can keep favourites in the changer and swap CD's on the head unit when the mood takes me (also freeing up the glovebox to store the discs in!!)
Can anyone advise me on how to find the radio code for the Symphony head unit? I can supply vehicle details (chassis, number plate etc) but unfortunately the security code wasn't passed to the previous owner and there doesn't appear to be the little credit card sized card with the drivers handbook pack. I just need the code in case the head unit swap doesn't go to plan or if I put the original unit back in when (If!!) I decide to sell the car in the future.
Has anyone any experience fitting a set of 6x9 speakers anywhere on the Tourer models and if so, wher edid they locate them?
I've thought about the rear doors, but am reluctant to cut away any of the door cards or existing speaker housings.
Any ideas or solutions you can come up with would be appreciated, perhaps even if you could recommend any speaker upgrade kits to retro fit into the door cards.
Cheers

I bought a car without the radio code but managed to secure it off ebay via email for ÂŁ4.99. The firm confirmed from my VIN and serial number that they had the code before I paid for it. Ex-dealers also may have access.
Some examples have had the code written on the radio case.

I've a similar vehicle with radio/cassette and would also like to free up the glovebox of the CD changer. What kind of replacement head unit are you looking at?

Hello I've been told that this unit is made by Alpine and if you phone them and give them the serialnumber they can provide the code.
Good luck,

Looking to replace the Symphony head unit with a Sony CDX m800 Mask type unit.
this has the fold down front panel with graphics on one side and then LCD/Blue and Red LED's on the flip side.
Operated off the steering wheel controls ( I already have the Autoleads convertor) I originally ran it in my V6 vectra and it was superb.
CD player is again Sony, but a 10 disc unit, hopefully to locate somewhere in the loadspace area.
I also want to fit a set of 6x9 clarion speakers somewhere along with a Clarion 200 Watt amp, but need to find a home for the speakers (no parcel shelf!!)
Finally, from the Vectra, I took out my Sony Active Bass unit, which when run from the CDX m800 head unit gave wonderful deep bass. That'll fit nicely in the Tourers load space and can easily be removed when carrying large loads.
