Any 16/17cm Woofer and 25mm Tweeter components... :) It's a bit of a swine of a job to get the door cards off... But well worth it...

It's not that bad at all - takes about 10 mins max per door to get the cards off.

I have done all 4 speakers like JCB and it's well worth it.

May i ask as to which speakers you went for JCBZT160+ and Ti Rich, any recomendations would be helpfull, I am in the process of also getting an amp, 2xsubs and bass box for the boot, would this affect the type of speakers i should get ?.

Thanx

I went for Pioneer TS-175C components front and rear. I think JCB has Infinity Components. Both are available for just below ÂŁ100 a set.

I would suggest that these are about the minimum you need to spend if you are going to amp them as well.

Might get a separate amp for the door speakers and tweeters, a good idea ?

I used to have some Alpines which sounded great for ÂŁ100...! Now I've got JL Audio jobs as everything is really amped up...! :)
The only trouble with wiring an amp in the 75 / ZT is the power wire... There are stuff all grommits apart from the bonnett release cable that are easily accessible (on the v6 anyway).
But yes it is very worthwhile amping them up, but you should then make MDF formers for the speakers as the plastic ones will distort and rattle...

Where are you anyway mate? If you are near Reading, I'll give you a hand....

No, its not far one of my friends girlfrieds parents lives in Reading so been there a few times. Dont really feel that comfortable ripping them apart done stuff like that before and broke soo many things i dont think id try it again especially not on this car anyway. As im an ice virgin could i ask you what the extra box is you sometimes get with a pack of speakers and tweeters is ?, do i need this or can i just buy the speakers and tweeters separate or shoudl i buy them in a pack ?

Any help would be appricated.

The box is the crossover which sends the appropriate signal to the speaker that it is meant for. Not all speakers have them and some are more sophisticated than others, for speakers which cost less than ÂŁ100, the crossover is usually just soldered inline with the wire that goes to the tweeters. But if they are needed they are included in the pack.
PM me if you want a hand...

So it would be worth paying more for a set with a crossover ?, any opinions on which ones i should look for ?.

Thanx

If I had about ÂŁ100 to spend I'd save the extra ÂŁ50 and get these . But you will need to amp them up a head unit is not going to have the guts to power them.
Failing them, then these would do nicely and they have the seperate crossover box.... ;)

Well the JBL amp is ÂŁ75 here , and the subs are probably only ÂŁ60 each... The box's they are in are probably worth the same as the speakers and they WILL fill your boot... If I were you I'd stick to getting decent speakers in the doors first... Two pairs of those Genesis ones will sound far better... Or even just the front ones off the HU....

So in your opinion you would go for these ? worth the money, sound good etc ?
Should i change all 4 speakers/tweeters ?, or just the front for now and rears later, dont want to blow the rear speakers!
Get the front 2 and fade it forward, use the rears for filling... Then see about amping it up....
One question, do you just want better quality or a hard kicking system?
