MG ZT KV6 Crank Pulley

no i dont think its a common replaced part, only on the deisel engine i think. . though most kv6 engines have characteristic taps from time to time. yours sounds exactly like mine. and no need to worry.just check the oil light goes out quickly as it could be oil pump related and not the crank pulley. if the oil light goes out ok and you have a quality oil in then dont worry.

thanks for your reply, dont think i have any oil problems light goes out quickly and has had many a oil change. Certain is that pulley, still can not find another post with a V6 pulley failure all diesel.

There is not a lot there to go wrong. It is just an inner and outer part pressed together with rubber in between. Sometimes the outer can creep around on the inner hub, but that's about it. However, there is a tensioner and idler pulley under the cover that can both suffer from bearing failure so it is worth checking out any odd noises.
