Might do, might not. Open the bonnet and look for a lump on the left hand side wheel arch (as you stand looking at the car) with pipes coming out of it.

If it's there you have ABS, if not... Well you get the idea

Yes, right up to the middle of 2003. My 03 (April registered) car doesn't have it.

 

Have a look under the bonnet on the drivers side. If you have ABS you will see the ABS unit on what looks like a battery tray.

 

some say there better without it on ice etc?

 

Ice, wet Grass, gravel, anything that once a wheel gets slipping on it needs to be locked to slow down ABS is dangerous on.

The best thing to have is no ABS and know about/how to cadence braking.
