TBF, the ONLY car that black alloys look good on is a black one (shiny black - matt black on any car just makes it look shabby and uncared for).

Black alloys on any other colour car just look carp - at best, from a distance it simply gives the impression that the owner can't be arsed with washing wheels (you get a similar effect from gunmetal coloured wheels).

thats right m8 i think black alloys on any car apart from white or black looks carp

well i gots 17's with 215 tyres on and they rub on full lock and are VERY close to the suspension struts.

i can see 18's EASILY hitting that never mind the arches on full lock.

personally i think 18's would look horrible o_O

17's lowers fill the arches very nicley, but not lowerd its most likley going to be the same unless u fit thicker tyres than you are suppose too, which will cause the speeds to be out.
With the straights, how badly do the 215s rub? Ive got a feeling the ZR160 has a wider turning circle... Does that mean theyre less likely to rub on the 160? Or am I talking crap? I wana get some 215 45s for my car. At the mo I've got 205 40s.

The ZR does have a shorter rack than the 25 so it is less likely to rub on the inner arch.

Fitting 215/40's should be fine. You do have to declare them to your insurer, but as you are already running incorrect sized tyres you will already be doing this part so it won't make any difference.

To be honest I haven't declared that I am running 40s. It didn't even cross my mind actually seeing as they were the size that came on the car when I got it. Thanks for the heads up man I'll get on the case with that tomorrow. Do you think 215 45s would fit without rubbing?

Big fan of your music Mike!

Anyway, I remember some time ago a website had a visualizer and it'd show you the side view of your car with your suggested alloys to see how they looked. Any company still do this?

215/40's would be the size you need.

Insurance will probably say they don't care, but best to inform them as they are not standard.

Since 1997! Lol. It is nothing like the golden years nowadays!
I know tell me about it mate. Music production has become much more accessible to anyone with a computer so there are just thousands of producers trying to put out music. Too many small digital labels taking on all the crap music as well so you just have to spend hours sifting through all the **** music before you find anything half decent. Sucks ass!

I just would have liked a slightly more comfortable ride that's all. 40s are a bit too low profile for my liking. Would the 215 45s rub then? If so I might just get some 205 45s instead...

Not sure about the ZR 160 but on the ZR 105 then 215/45/17 tyres are ok on the rear but will rub on the fronts.
If going 18" wheels then 215/35/18 will fit, i`ve experienced no rubbing but you will feel and hear road bumps more.

Have you not thought about fitting Rover 25 springs with 13" steel wheels? Might not look sporty enough for a 160 but you'll not break your back over the bumps. It'll be a real head turner too or downer! Lol.
