One of my bulbs died last night so instead of replacing with a normal bulb is it worth upgrading to these Ring bulbs ie Xenonplus etc, do they work? are they worth the money?

Hi Brad. I upgraded my main beams to Phillips Ultra White Vision thingy jobs, +50% brighter and legal. I dunno about 50% brighter, but they are a good improvement. Well worth it for the mainly X country main beam motoring I do. I wouldn't bother with upgrading the dip beam, as you'd only use them about town anyway.

good luck,

DD.

God Bless Rover Design

Arrr rover,

I can see how this came around, there they all are sat around drinking coffee and playing with their beards,.......
"right where can we stick the power steering bottle?"
"Hmmm I know lets stick it infront the drivers side headlight they wont need to change the bulbs"

:irked:
my hands are to big! oh well I changed the one, Now I can really see if they are indeed 30% brighter:D

I'm not sure about the bubble but the PAS reservoir on the tug has a wedge shaped mount so it slots onto it's bracket and can be lifted off with no tools and gives a coupla inches of clearance. The mains were a bitch on the tug also - you need ETs fingers to get the damn things in!

Bet you can't wait 'til it's dark now Brad! how much did you pay & what brand did you get?

cheers,

DD.

Ring Xenon Plus "upto 30% brighter than standard bulbs, The Essential upgrade for increased Visi!"

I thought about ultra Xenon (60%) but they were ÂŁ25 so thought Id stick with these ones @ ÂŁ16

The ones you mentioned (Phillips Ultra White ) were out of stock :yikes: :twak:

Hmmm we will see, although when I finish work now its actually still light :D roll on the summer! what a day today a bit cold, but the sun was out, had the windows down and sunroof open  :cloud9:

Thats not a bad price. the Philips ones were nearly ÂŁ20 for the pair!:yikes: I used the Hella ones in H4 form on a previous car and the improvement was noticeable.

I'll be driving to work at 5am tomorrow, half asleep, shirt sticking out my fly, eating brekky, drinking coffee & shaving in the rear view mirror - so I like a good main beam to warn others that i'm on the road!

Good luck,

DD.
