I had the same problem a while ago on a 620, and did a bit of research on the whole topic and it seems there is no easy way around it for obvious reasons. As in if it was easy to turn off.. Crooks would have a field day!! Hence this may also be the reason you have not received any replies.

Depending on what car you have, there is the EKA code, I know your rover guy said he could not get it, but the whole put key in the door ..stand on one leg.. turn key so many times works on some cars and if it has one...it will be retreavable...

you might want to look here, they might be able to help you:

Hope that helps buddy.

Quote from Sean,

I thought that that the vehicle had a EKA Code but don't want to commit myself to say it has, if it's got one the software I have will pull the EKA out of the 5AS system.

Let me know what you want to do and email me if you wish to meet up and arrange a time.

This offer is open to anyone who wants to re-programme a fob or find the EKA Code to the vehicle. As long as the person brings ID and the log book for the vehicle, to ensure I'm not helping people steal cars, I'll help them.

I'll have a look for it as well, it'd be interesting to read. I really doubt that it will be that simple though. Imagine a car thief stealing a car, just pushing it onto a trailer taking it home and disabling it. Can x-part centres access individual car info? I'll have a search in a while for any info, i'm not doing much else today.

can no one else remember the thread i am on about, the information would be of no use to a car thief for stealing a car because i am sure you had to have a working fob to be able to do it, i am sure it was in the lastcouple of weeks or so. the thread was not started by the person that had the answer it was a reply to some one else ? could the thread have been deleted for security reasons?
