Converting to LHD

I was also interested in doing this for the same reason.

I contacted a specialist garage near Reading (whose name I can't remember off-hand) and they very kindly gave me a guesstimate for the work, which was between 4 and 5 thousand squids!!! Apparently the biggest problem is finding a LHD dash board (fascia?) in the UK.

Anyway, it just wasn't economic to get a garage to do it and I don't have access to a workshop nor have the tools needed so ........

Read my post above.
FIRST buy your donor car for all the pieces.
So you may as well buy a cheap RHD to fix up your LHD donor car.

It's not cheap and there is a lot of work and parts needed.

Well, Daryl from www.mgf-reborn.co.uk is doing it for me at the moment, we are not only converting to LHD but uprating all the werable components and parts.

It is not a cheap thing to do, but I will end with a much better car.

In my case it was worth it, but I may not be the perfect person to ask as my TF had quite a bit of modifications before the conversion and I did not wanted to throw away all the money they costed me.

will be a doddle the shells are set up the good old fashion ways so that they can be either lhd or rhd
off the top of my head you will need
dash
new wiper set up
pedal box and servo linkage -new brake pipes etc new throttle cable
heater ducting as the pedal box will be where the heat intake is
loom -unless less you wnat to do alot of soldering and remover the glove box evertime a fuse goes
thens there the daft stuff
new door handle the passenfger side sometimes does have the key fitted
carper no rubber mat etc

Mgf 2000 headlight conversion to Lhd

Yo all, I am new to this but I very much appreciate the info on here cos it inspired me to try.
I can confirm after following one of the threads advise despite some saying it is not possible, that it is possible to swap the headlight lenses across from one side to the other of a RHD 2000 mgf ( a doddle of a job really and took me less than 1 HR ) and they in effect end up inside out but the same way up. My car has just passed the Spanish ITV first time. No need to buy LHD replacements if yours are up to scratch.
