just remember your claiming from the 3rd party`s insurance and they have no right to write off your car - who`s insurance is assesing it yours or thiers

Ive said this 1000 times but ill say it again - the car is yours until you get the cheque dont let them take it anywhere until your have an outcome (cash or otherwise ) your happy with

Weve hered of so many cases where the insurance run off with the car for it never to be seen agaian as they think its a write off and the chance of buy back never materiaises

In fairness the insurance company asked me straight away if I would like to buy it back should it be a write off, because of my lack of engineering skills I declined, it's my insurance company assessing the car, I will have to wait for the report

He said the van in front of me obstructed his view, however their was a. Lorry in the filter lane waiting to turn into the road he emerged from so god knows where he thought he was going to go, I just had to head for the gap.

looking in this months Saftey fast there is a 2002 TF (33k) for ÂŁ3250 and a 2002 TF Sprint LE (18K) for |ÂŁ3995

I think there both at the higher end of the price range but if you need prices to give the insurance its the higher ones you want

im beginning to hope not, dont know if id feel comfortable driving it after a major repair.
Very understandable...I felt the same after George's smash

Glad you're relatively ok...have you been checked up by the docs yet??? I don't say that so that you can put bogus whiplash claims in, but because you say you're hurting and sometimes these injuries are very genuine and plague you for years

hope you're back in the driving seat very soon :grouphug:

thanks Birks, yes went to hospital for a check up, bruising and stress, advised to rest for a week, insurance company solicitors already on the loss of earnings and injury compensation trail.

its a write off

had the phone call today and its a write off, mixed feelings, relief and sadness, a reasonable result on the value ÂŁ2460 I paid ÂŁ2890 2 years ago. full crerdit to pete best brokers and ecclesiastical insurance.

this is probably goodbye to TF ownership for a while as ill probably get A 4x4 for the winter as we have recently moved to a rural area.

oh and as an aside, apparently the little scroat who pulled out in front of me is claiming it was MY FAULT as I DROVE INTO HIM, so not only does he need new glasses and a re test he needs a good smack too lol.

thank goodness for eye witnesses.

Dave

Doesn't make any difference though if you don't have an agreed value.

Insurers aren't stupid, they will look across many and gauge an average price before making an offer. They won't fob you off with the cheapest, but then they won't pay you the price of the most expensive.

Glad you got it sorted Dave, and glad you emerged relatively unscathed. That was a great looking TF :(
