There is no need to remove the steering wheel, just remove the upper and lower column cowlings.

There are two small screws securing the switch assembly, you will need to turn the steering wheel to gain access. The switch is also clipped into the plastic holder.

Well, i did my sons rover 200 wiper stalk this morn. Did it with just the top steering cowl off. Screws came out easy enough but the clip was a real pig. In the end i got wire cutters on it to cut it away from the clip.

Put the replacement in and it clipped back into place ok. I hope i don't have to go thru that again. How the hell do you release the clip i couldnt even see where it fastened when i had the old stalk out ?
