Help Needed Rover 200 Engine replacement

Hi,
I've just swapped out an engine on a rover 200 (r plate) and i'm not getting any power from the ignition to the starter. Ive changed the wiring loom and starter motor. Would i need to change the ecu aswell ?

Are you using the original ecu? I only ask as it contains all the immobiliser information which may well be causing all your troubles.

Original ECU should be work if you keep the original keys/fob

^^^^^ and remote fob, unlike ford keys for example the immobiliser is worked from the remote, ford keys have the immobiliser transpoder built into them.

check the starter relay box next to the ECU.
