...is always a bad sign when driving with the roof down...

I got a little wet this morning driving to Bristol on the M4 with the roof down. I knew I was in trouble when all the cars on the other carriageway had their lights on, with the occasional one still having their wipers on.

I was overtaken by a car that had a little old lady in the passenger seat. She looked across at me getting drenched with that..."awww bless him" kind of look on her face...

a sudden coldness in the air is a bad sign too I've noticed. Whilst stuck at some roadworks a while back a driver coming past was good enough to stop and tell me it was raining heavily up ahead. Didn't put the hood up but nice of him to stop.

Last week I came round a corner on a 70mph country road only to be hit with about 50 litres of water from above - some farmer had rigged up a home made, industrial size, lawn sprinkler afair, on a pole about 40 foot up, right by the roadside. Went straight through it...

Luckily I was in the tin top that day
