Brap brap. Things start to get hairy when your passing lorries like they're standing still. Few turbo boys have hit the limiter in 5th. Which depending on your box and tyre profile equates to 145 - 169ish.

Only thing I'd start to get worried about at that speed is the front lifting. 200's not exactly got the best front end for downforce...

I've hit 97 on a slight downhill in my Rover 200 bubble. I think this is the max speed that it is supposed to do and it was at around 6k rpm in 4th.

However, I'm sure the speedo doesn't depict how fast I was actually going... probably more like 89mph to be honest.

Had to slow up after I realised I was closing in on a Coppa in front of me :p

Private road ofcourse ;)

Vi indicated 127 on an airfield, not much pull left at that speed though. probably 115-119 real speed. not had it anywhere private since box change to see how the close ratio BRM box does at speed yet, might see a few more mph out of it as it revs higher on that box.

wouldn't even attempt to go flat out on a road, too much risk of something going wrong, not just with the car but with other people too, not to mention it's highly illegal, and I value my licence a lot. since doing track driving, not seen the point in pushing hard on roads anyway, much more fun on track and not worrying.

My old 1.6 tomcat showed up 135 on the clocks just before my coolant bottle basically exploded.

Not sure how far out the speedo was but I'm sure the top end on coupe's are better anyway due to better aerodynamics (my theory anyway  )

Edit: just to clarify this was done past the local nursery at 3pm on a monday afternoon.
