Hey all, the title pretty much says it all, I ordered an alpine head unit from HK recently, and I have just received a slightly different model, but singe this is an upgrade on what I ordered, but is a double din unit. i would like to keep it and install it, but I cannot find anywhere online if it is even possible to install a double din unit into a ZS / 45

Please help if anyone has a solution

The only way you will get a double din stereo to fit is to completely modify the centre console. You would need to open out the stereo hole, move the heater dials and fibreglass it all up.

It may even be easier to start with a MkII climate centre console and modify that.

Here is a double din I did on the astra.

If it can be done with an astra you should be able to do it with any console. It would take about a week or so between cutting, sanding, gluing, drying. priming. painting.

So you would actually be better off buying a second console to do the work on as there would be a gapping hole in your car. Lucky astras are 2 to a penny so a trip to the breakers yard will always bring up an astra, but I have never seen an MG in my local yard!!!!
