Difference Between CDT and CDTI

Hi All

I sold my last rover 75 which was a tourer CDTI to get something easier for running around town, however, my driving needs have changed and I'm now looking for a 75 tourer automatic. Is there a big difference in performance between the CDT and the CDTi? The car I changed to has had its engine replaced twice and I'm keen to move back to the solid engine of the Rover before I have to change this one again. ALso what is involved in upgrading a CDT to 131? Is it possible.

It's just the engine mapping (software) there's no physical difference between them. The CDT is 116ps and the CDTI is 131ps. All that is required is a remap (about £200) and you've got a CDTI!!

Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing that the rover ron box would be a better option than the remap??

The current model support real time dash switch operation so you can change the performance at the press of a button. You won't find a remap that will allow you do do that!

both do pretty much the same job really, there's pros and cons to either (some even have an aftermarket remap and a synergy to get around 170bhp). If you have a look on the diesel tuning forum here there's loads of discussion on that sort of thing.
