Just got a quote from these guys..

http://www.zircotec.com/page/ceramic_fabrications/45

Regarding pricing; for a 4:2:1 manifold (as picture provided), the cost to coat is £384 for Performance White™ or £442 for any from our Performance Colours™ range.
Prices exclude shipping and VAT. Turnaround time is approximately 10 - 15 working days with payment accepted via credit card or bank transfer

Doubt im going to proceed.. at that price

Might wrap instead with the self adhesive stuff they do

Strewth, they know how to charge...

These dudes...

...are circa £250 for a 4-2-1, my mate had some bits done there a couple years back - still quite pricey, and might've gone up since, but they still look as good now as when first applied. Which is more than can be said for my wrap, done at same time. Went all brown and manky, ended up spraying it black with hightemp silicone spray.

You done the homework yet DD? :)

I had a shift around last week as im considering it.
CamCoat, as mentioned in post#2, iv seen a mixture of comment about them. seen some very bad reviews from customers - the coating cracks. apparently this is usualy the case on a used manifold.... ?

There is a company that do coating, and they started out doing it for Nuclear power stations - best of the best, so ive read. No idea on prices though.

Also - apparantly heat wrap does a much better job retaining the heat than ceramic.
Again, could be false.

The key arument is how far to coat / wrap. Some say manifold. some say the CAT is the most important part to wrap. others say as far as the backbox is OTT.
But again, in our cars, the whole exhaust is right under the engine bay. remember this when other forums ONLY do the manifold with front engined cars with pipes running under the car (and no-where near the engine bay.)

worthless factual nuggets on their own, needs more research. but please do. Just passing on some info i dug up.

Alternatively there is a product called Cerakote from the States. Exhaust needs to be grit blasted to provide a key, preferably, but not essentially oven dryed at 250* to remove any moisture or grease, sprayed and then air dryed. There is a video on Youtube that shows the process and it looks pretty simple if you have a sprayer and a grit blaster.

No idea how effective it is. Their websites are very professional. There are two sprayers in the UK maybe more that seem to specialize in gun coating but will also do other items.
