Just had a thought regarding Kameleons car.

If it is going to be written off and Paul wants to get bits off it, how about donating any spare bits that we have lying around?

I can start it off with a set of original rear lights.

Guys you don't have to do this! It's my mess and I'll do my best to fix it!

Need to work out the pro's and con's of getting the insurance to write it off tomorrow when they are open, I won't be able to buy it back as it'll be a cat B - if that's the route I take I'll get all my bits off it and swap it for economy spec ones from ebay and .org; don't forget there's quite a few bits at the bottom of the valley that they are welcome to climb down and retreive should they wish ;)

I've never done an engine swap but I'm willing to help any way I can, I dont live far from you and have a good selection of tools. Also if you need any OEM part you are more than welcome to take them off my car, in return for your non-oem parts, and then when you get a new car we can swap them around

Getting it back from 'oop t'north' to 'darn sarf' for Paul to be able to work on it will cost an arm and a leg so I would forget it frankly. Also insurance will no doubt ask some really awkward questions as to why it was moved 300 miles.

Sorry, not trying to be negative, just realistic.

Just take the insurance money and move on.

I don't really have much that hasn't already been offered, but having just done a bit of a service I have;

A set of well used brake discs & pads
Air filter
Battery - you might as well swap out an OK one for a duffer
Little bits of interior trim - handbrake gaiter, switches, clock, oil temp gauge - just in case Paul has changed to coloured leds and wants to keep them.
I also have the original stereo
Some original rear lights

Also, I'm not that far away from Paul so can offer sometime to help when the time comes.
