Auto gear box problem 75 CDT

Hi there

Went to Biggin Hill air show Sunday and spent 2 hours stop start creeping out of the car parks, at times i could smell clutch burning but put that down to other cars around surrounding me, having an auto box fitted.
But once on the open road car seemed sluggish to pull away and the kick down slow to react, since Sunday i have covered a further 300 miles and no change in performance, it just seems so much slower in wanting to change up, and at 70mph i can hear and feel a burrring that was not there before.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Cars now covered 127,000 and has always run nice and smooth.
I have spoken to a local auto gearbox specialist but he wants it in for test and inspection and i would have to pay if he found a problem or not, so any ideas what it could be?

Definitely get the fluid changed. Unfortunately the best way is by an Auto Trans specialist as they can only change half the fluid in one go and then get it done again within a couple hundred miles. Get them to do a diagnostic test at the same time which may offset the cost of the fluid change.

There are some Auto trans guys listed in the Definitive List of garages thread on this forum. Search for it.

It cost me ÂŁ52 to get my fluid changed. Well worth it.

Thanks for the replies

I'm going to take it in the auto box specialist and have it inspected and the oil changed, spending a few tenners is much better than spending several hundreds.
