when you press the A/C button do you here the compressor clutch click in ????...If not it is most likely to be low on gas ...I think Quick Fit do a A/C service although i cannot comment on them .....personally i get a proper A/C specialised to do mine ...

 

I'd agree on the re-gas.

 

yes i can here the click from the pump all ive done is to drain the coolant system .. it was working fine last year but yes the click is there

did the air con pump make a little whineing noise before it stopped working?

the noise is low oil in the air con system making things noisey
i wud re oil/gas it anyway,just to make sure

get a professional to check the system and to re-gas it
the gas they use is a bit toxic,and they give you a printout b4 and after

 

When I press my AC button all I hear is the cooling fans kick in, nothing else, Air does not get any colder really, could have used it today mind!! Weather was beautiful!!

When the A/C button is pressed you should hear and feel a slight raise in the revs

Mines been HEAVEN the last few days... ice cold

 

i have had a look again today at the A/C i turn engine on and switch on the A/C now i dont have the click that i can hear when the system is switched on there is a red wire that runs to the pump so i tested it and there seems to be no power running to it when the A/C is switched on ive checked all fuses under the bonnet all ok so i think i will just have to make do with the windows down from now on .. last year it worked perfect very cold but guess this last winter must have done some thing to it

 

and yes i did have a noise coming from that area like a winding noise but it was short lived and it was before christmas last year when that happend i just put down to cold wheather and it went away
