greetings ...

what's the general opinion on a wind stop? do people like them or not? are they worth shelling out for?

are there better ones than others? i've seen a mesh one on ebay for £50 (with still 5 days to go) or a glass one on mike saturs for £140. what's best?

what are your thoughts and recommendations on this?

cheers! :)

Definitely worth it, IMO.. makes loads of difference.

The mesh ones are more effective than the solid ones. Just because mesh ones don't stop the airflow dead in it's tracks, I think. Wind doesn't bounce off the mesh, as much as it does off solid ones.

I used to have a mesh one. Now have MGFC roll hoops and glass/plastic windstop, which is still effective.. just not quite as effective as the mesh one.

mesh or glass..... quite a topic... its really down to personal preference. do a search of this forum for windstop threads and u will see many topics of which one is best.
i haev the glass one, have heard teh mesh is better for performance of job, but wasnt keen on the potential loss of rear visibility.

There is always the Lucky option. I assume he is selling the glass ones now.
Correct.....well...almost - small delay with materials, but should have some good to go soon. This is a prototype of the new ones i'm doing - not finished (production items will have black or silver painted finish on the mounting bar) but will look basically like this:

Screen is CNC cut. Will be available in clear, light tint and medium tint as shown here:

Will also be able to colour code the base to your vehicle, and add graphics and logo's as before :)

Definately worth it if you plan on doing any long motorway journeys. I find it's ok until you hit about 40mph, but anything over that and it's quite tiring, plus I can't see where I'm going! If you don't want to fork out, put a hat on and keep the windows up on the motorway, if you do want one I've got the mesh one, which 'apparently' is the most effective. Got mine from Newton Commerial who will trim them in almost any colour leather to match your interior.

Lucky, why are you using a table as a windstop?

Seriously, I agree with Chris T. I got ear problems driving without a windstop and got a mesh one. It is a great addition and unless very warm is always up if the roof is down. I don't find visibility an issue in daylight and in the dark it helps cut down the glare from cars behind you.
