Looking for 2 new tyres for my ZT-T

Just a question ..... whilst looking through some old threads i have noticed that some have fitted 225 40 18 as apposed to the 225 45 18 that came fitted and have been able to get some considerable savings what is the difference between these 2 tyres what possible repercussions might there be .... would i nbeed to advise my insurance

Overall diameter of 225 40 18 is about 635 mm,whereelse 225 45 18 tyres is about 657 mm,so do your counting yourself.....speedometer faster by.........5%.!
