ZR problems :(

Hi all, glad to be part of the forum, been really enjoying reading through all the threads and learning
.

I unfortunatley have a couple of problems with my ZR. The first is a common one that I believe involves replacing a resistor or something. For some reason the hot air on the blowers doens't someitmes, I think it's when the engine isn't reving as much, would really like to get this sorted in time for the winter!!!!!!

The 2nd problem is a bit more worrying, I'm hoping it is simple. I've had my car for 2 weeks now, and it's been fine, but about 3 days ago it started 'missing' when doing between 5,5 and 7K rpm, it'll keep pulling but cutts out along the way, which is really frustrating if you're trying to get out of the way!

Hope someone can help me.

Cheers guys!
Zach.

If the blower works but the air is not hot, the problem lies with the water flow through the heater matrix. Check the coolant level, check the operation of the heater valve in the pipe to the heater and if you can find nothing wrong flush the heater matrix with a hose.

If the coolant level has been alowed to get low, you may need to bleed the air from the system as this will stop the heater from getting hot and will make the engine over heat.

Lack of heat could also be caused by the heater controls not working properly - perhaps some linkage has fallen off.

If the problem is that the fan itself does not work, see - http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=55979

First thing to do if you have a misfire is to fit new plugs and give the rest of the ignition components a good clean.
Cheers

Thanks mate, I will check the coolant and heater matrix!, it seems weird with the mis fire, it never ever happens, unless I go past 5.5K, but I'll get some new sparkies for it, and check the ignition components.

Really appreciate your input!
