Hi,

My electric mirror fuese keeps blowing for no apparent reason. I've checked all the wiring etc but cannot find anything which is causing the problem. I was wondering if this kind of fault would show up when plugged into the computer at a local dealer.

Cheers,
Dan.

Hi dan its more likely to be found with multimeter . does fuse blow straight away or is it when you ajust the mirror, if it blows when you ajust, remove one cable from switch to isolate it and try again you will probably need to check both ends plus mirror motor. also some of these mirrors are heated that could also be a problem. this will normally if faulty blowfuse straight away. hope this helps .

The electric mirrors are not monitored by the diagnostics.

This problem is most likely being caused by the wiring loom chafing against metalwork, thus causing a short circuit.

Cheers for the response. The fuse sometimes blows within a few hours after putting in the new one or sometimes it can last upto 2 weeks before going pop. Very strange!
