Thoughts please folks! If you cast your mind back to the 205 GTi, one of the things that really made the car's interior stand out was the use of Red Carpets, you can see where this is going cant you! Personally i think a red carpet in ZR's would really life the cabin up no end!

Not too sure how it would work in Yellow cars though, but most other colours would be ok i think, unless they had coloured leather seats!

lol..time to break up this little Scottish clique of yours!!! :D

I think it'd be quite a good idea Mike - a coloured carpet might liven the interior up quite a bit - they could maybe colour co-ordinate the carpet to match the coloured inserts on the leather seats. I agree that it might not work with yellow tho!

Perhaps they could do coloured seatbelts too - i think the MG Metro used to have them :D

Dan

ps - why's this in the 'for sale' section tho? might move it to the 'zed saloons' part of the forum ;)

The old 205 GTI did look the biz with red carpets and your right the Maestro did have red seatbelts. The new 911 GT2 has body colour seatbelts. Carpets and belts could make a nice Monagram option in all MGs. The old Rover 800s had an option for coloured carpet!

P.S I'm another Scot from the West Coast (Ayr) just in disguise down here!

A few years back I had some colour coded carpets made up by my local friendly carpet shop. They were really cheap and fitted like a dream, I basically gave them my old carpets to use as patterns to make the new ones.

Don't bother with the big warehouse type carpet stores instead find a local corner shop type store.

It's a really nice personel touch to add to your car if you ask me.

A view point from someone who just traded a red 205gti in for a new Zed :D, I hated the red carpets for one reason, once you get em dirty they where a bugger to clean, I tried nearly every shampoo on the market and gave up in the end, yes you can say use mats but even then they dont catch all the dirt :( just my viewpoint. imo grey carpets are much better.

Ah the reason why it is the for sale section is a balls up on my part, and i couldnt delete the post to start again in the right section! but good to see the response. I know the red carpets got dirty, but hey, who cares they looked good!

The way this is going why not have Tartan carpets. Suppose there'd be a discussion about which clan Tartan went best with which paint colour then though.:(

Seriously, a great idea. Colour-coded mats would look good. As for the anti-yellow comments, I'll try 'em in mine!
